Kitty Hawk
Young anglers and families are invited to cast a line and enjoy a morning of fun at the annual Kitty Hawk Youth Fishing Tournament, returning to the Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier for another exciting day on the water. Hosted by the Kitty Hawk Police Department and community partners, the popular event gives kids an opportunity to experience the excitement of Outer Banks fishing in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

The catch-and-release tournament welcomes participants of all skill levels, from first-time anglers learning the basics to experienced young fishermen eager to reel in a prize-worthy catch. Throughout the morning, children will compete for awards based on their catches while enjoying the scenic oceanfront atmosphere of one of the Outer Banks’ iconic fishing piers.

Organizers say the event is designed to encourage outdoor recreation, build confidence, and create lasting memories for local families and visitors alike. In addition to the fishing, participants can enjoy food, prizes, and plenty of community spirit as families gather along the pier to cheer on the young competitors.

With ocean views, friendly competition, and summertime excitement, the Kitty Hawk Youth Fishing Tournament offers a fun and memorable way for kids to connect with the Outer Banks’ long-standing fishing tradition while spending time outdoors with family and friends.
