Michael and Pam opened their Kitty Hawk bicycle shop in 2003 with the goal of providing friendly, professional service. For a decade they’ve done just that and, in the process, have made many new friends among local and visiting cyclists.

Another goal they had was to grow, and last year that dream became a reality when the couple opened their second cycle shop in Duck, a really great place to cruise.

Both shops offer a wide selection of adult cruisers and kids‘ bikes for rent, along with baby-seat bikes, trailers and jog strollers. They also rent accessories and beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers for the beach.

At the Kitty Hawk shop you’ll find a full line of biking accessories, along with their selection of men's and women's Mountain, Comfort, Beach Cruisers and hybrids for rent. Also for rent are road bikes for the more serious cyclists, and these high performance bikes, along with beach cruisers, are also for sale at this location. You can get the latest innovations in safety, like “wireless computers that mount anywhere on you bike,” and also new and old style T-shirts.

Along with rentals, the smaller Duck shop offers a growing list of extra goodies, like T-shirts, caps, sunglasses and beach bags.

Both shops provide in-season delivery for weekly rentals from Duck to Nags Head. Booking can be done by phone or online, including a Paypal option. Also on their website you’ll find a map of local scenic bike paths and parks. The Kitty Hawk shop is open year round; Duck Cycle is closed in the winter and open 9-6 in-season. Off-season hours vary.
