Create a masterpiece that pays homage to the Outer Banks’ love of life on the water with this special Art Party that’s designed for artistic kids of all ages. The Art Party – Sailboat session is hosted by the Dare County Arts Council, and is a special two-hour art class that will teach kids the joys of painting coastal scenes on the OBX.
The event is held at the DCAC center in the heart of downtown Manteo, with acclaimed teacher and local artist Mari Beth LaRose providing the instruction. During the class, Mari Beth will lead students through the step-by-step process of creating a scenic sailboat cruising through the water, and by the time the class is over, students will leave with their own 11” x 14” painting to treasure as a homemade Outer Banks souvenir. The cost for the class is $30 for Dare County Arts Council members and $35 for nonmembers, and the price includes all supplies and paint, as well as a light snack and a beverage for students. The class is open for all kids, and children ages 6 and up can attend without an adult present. A fun and unique experience from start to finish, this class will be a highlight of a summer vacation for creative kids everywhere.
