After a few days of studying the coastline, creative kids can put their artistic talents and their Outer Banks inspiration to good use at this special two-hour class that focuses on the techniques of creating an eye-catching wave painting.

Held at the Dare County Arts Council headquarters in Manteo, and led by local artist and teacher Mari Beth LaRose, this special class focuses on the creation of a wave painting, and will guide young students through all the steps required to create their finished masterpiece. By the end of the session, kids will go home with their own 11” x 14” canvas artwork that will serve as a continual reminder of their recent vacation on the Outer Banks. The class is $35 for visitors, (and $30 for DCAC members), and the cost includes all paints, the canvas itself, as well as additional supplies, and a light snack and drink. Kids of all ages are welcome, and kids ages 6 and up are welcome to attend on their own, without an adult present. Focusing on techniques as well as creative inclinations, this coastal Art Party is a great way for creative visitors to capture the gorgeous waves that are a hallmark of life on the Outer Banks.
