Join in the fun of one of Manteo’s favorite fishing traditions with the annual Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament. Celebrating its 25th year in 2022, this family-friendly event is a great way to foster a love of fishing while enjoying one of the coolest small towns in the central Outer Banks.
The Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament is a charity tournament that raises money for deserving young people throughout Dare County, and which has raised nearly $300,000 to date. Everyone is welcome to register online for the tournament at http://rockfishrodeo.org/outer-banks-rockfish-rodeo-entry-form.html in order to compete for the largest fish in four distinct categories: stripers, flounder, puppy drum, and speckled trout. Prizes and trophies will be awarded in adult, women’s and youth divisions, and there’s also a single “Grand Slam” award for the fisherman who weighs in fish from at least three of the four categories. With great prizes and great comradery throughout, this tournament provides a perfect opportunity to discover how much fun fishing on the Outer Banks can be.
