Surf fishing along the shoreline of Hatteras Village is truly unparalleled. Invited participants can enjoy a full weekend of casting and reeling in the good coastal catches at this fishing tournament that attracts anglers from all around the country.

The Annual Hatteras Village Civic Assn. Invitational Tournament has become a favorite early-fall event for many longtime visitors, and it takes place on the beaches of Hatteras village. This "invitation only" event can accommodate roughly 90 teams of anglers. Prizes are awarded at the end of the fishing tournament to the best and biggest catches, and a special post-tournament celebration is also held so anglers can meet and mingle, and swap their fish stories with folks who love the island fishing scene as much as they do. A favorite event for years running, the Hatteras Village Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament is a great opportunity for new and longtime island fishing fans to come together and enjoy hours of fun in the sun with a fishing pole in hand.
