The Annual Hatteras Village Civic Assn. Invitational Tournament has become a favorite early-fall event for many longtime visitors, and it takes place on the beaches of Hatteras village. This "invitation only" event can accommodate roughly 90 teams of anglers. Prizes are awarded at the end of the fishing tournament to the best and biggest catches, and a special post-tournament celebration is also held so anglers can meet and mingle, and swap their fish stories with folks who love the island fishing scene as much as they do.
