Hatteras Parasail at Oden’s Dock has been in business since 1994 and is a fully licensed and insured family-owned and operated business. They offer multiple sporting options including parasailing and kayaking.
Depending on weather and wind conditions, the parasail trip would take place on the Pamlico Sound side of Hatteras Village. In a nutshell, riders are put in a life vest and a harness that is attached to a parachute. They take a seated position on a platform, and as the boat increases speed, the parachute gradually takes flight. The ride lasts for 12-15 minutes. You can choose to dip into the water and rise again, or stay dry the entire ride. Ride alone or as a double or triple rider. Parasail flights begin at 9 a.m.
A kayak trip will have you moving through the wetlands and waters on the soundside of Hatteras Village. The guided tour is offered six days a week out of Oden’s Dock. It lasts about two hours during which time you will learn about local ecology, history and wildlife.
The tour includes the kayak, life jacket, guide and lesson. Make sure to bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Shoes are mandatory and alcohol is not permitted. All trips take into consideration your experience level. Child booster seats are available. Ask about their waverunner experiences! Visit their website for more information. Reservations must be made in advance.
