Glenn Eure's Ghost Fleet Art Gallery

With such a wonderfully evocative name, you know that the Ghost Fleet Gallery is no ordinary art showcase. First of all, the owner and artist Glenn Eure, (rhymes with “pure,” he likes to say) a character in his own right, designed the building. And since the early 1970s, he and “gallery wife” Pat have been some of the top supporters and boosters of the art community on the Outer Banks.

The gallery at the heart of Gallery Row is filled with original work from local artists and guest artists and any artist who catches the fancy of Eure, a big-hearted man with enormous talent who spends more time promoting other artists than himself.  But Eure’s work displayed in the gallery shows his amazing versatility, with exhibits in media including collographs, etchings, watercolors and relief carvings.

This is a gallery where the range of artistic expression is celebrated, from the traditional to the avant-garde, from the written word to paintings to sculpture to collage to fabric weavings and clothing craft. Community events are held regularly throughout the year, and show openings are always highly anticipated and well-attended.  No matter the season, there is always something fascinating on exhibit at the Ghost Fleet Gallery, and anyone who loves art and the Outer Banks should not miss a visit to this vibrant gallery.
