Younger surfers who want to enjoy a little competition while meeting and greeting with fellow surfing enthusiasts from all across the region will want to sign up for this event which puts the talents of young surfers in the spotlight. The Rip Curl Grom Search Surf Contest is a special surfing competition that’s designed for kids 17 years old and under, and which features multiple categories for girls and boys who want to compete along the waves of the Outer Banks.
The event is held close to Jennette’s Pier, which is famed as one of the best surfing beaches in the central Outer Banks, and it features a long list of cool prizes. Kids in each of the divisions will have an opportunity to compete with fellow groms, and a grand prize of a trip to Ventura California for the winners of each event at the annual championship competition will also be up for grabs. With a total of seven divisions that can range from kids 10 and under to short board riders, every type of young surfer can compete with their peers at this local contest. So grab the boards or just come to the beach to watch young surfers shine, and enjoy one of the coolest competitions for young visitors on the beach.
