Enjoy a day of education, activity, and a lot of fun at the Earth Fair OBX Celebration in the heart of the Outer Banks. Now becoming an annual tradition for eco-conscious explorers of all ages, this unique event features a wealth of ways to learn more about the delicate barrier island environment, and to help out the OBX community through green efforts of all varieties.

The event takes place at the Dowdy Park in Nags Head, and during the festivities, visitors can meet and greet with a number of area organizations that offer environmental education, and which work hard to help with varying aspects of the Outer Banks’ unique landscape. Education and fun abounds at the ensuing event, which includes programs and activities that help folks identify beachcombing finds, learn about sustainable earth-friendly practices that can be enjoyed in their own backyard, and discover the importance of alternative energy sources. With live music throughout the day, and tons of organizations and activities to discover, this once-a-year event shines a spotlight on all the unique things that make the Outer Banks special, as well as what folks can do to keep it that way for generations to come. The event is held rain or shine, and is free and open to the public.
