The board of directors of the Currituck-Dare Community Foundation announces the return of the Duck & Wine Festival, its annual fundraiser hosted in partnership with Coastal Cantina.

The Festival will take place on Saturday, April 28 from 12 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Duck Waterfront Shops. Ticket sales start in February, 2019.

The Duck & Wine Festival is a one-day restaurant cook-off judged by both a panel and event participants. Each chef creates a dish prepared from duck and pairs it with a wine selected by Coastal Cantina. The festival highlights talents of local restaurants, with tickets selling out every year, attracting residents and visitors. (Wines may be purchased throughout the event at Coastal Cantina, at a discounted rate. Coastal Cantina is also donating $1 per bottle sold via the event to the charitable beneficiaries.)

“The event also raises awareness about local charities,” said Dan LaRue, CDCF board member and event co-chair. In addition to grants provided through the event, the prize money awarded to the winning chefs is allocated to local nonprofits of their choosing. “This event is all about having fun for a good cause,” said Scott Foster, CDCF board member and event co-chair.
