Discover the many talents of Outer Banks artisans and everyday locals alike with this unique show that will be on display at the famed Roanoke Island Festival Park. The Outer Banks Community Quilt Show features both vintage and antique quilts created by community members as well as artists with ties to the Outer Banks, and is a colorful and educational display that will leave visitors and viewers of all tastes and styles positively enchanted.
The show is held indoors at the Administrative Office's Event Room in the heart of the Festival Park, and will feature a wide array of historic and / or unique quilts in all shapes, sizes and colors. Multiple quilting techniques will be represented throughout the show, which includes quilting, embroidery, applique’, and other needlework and embellishments, to inspire home artists to hone their own skills. Featured displays and activities throughout the event include a small quilt challenge, a kids’ scavenger hunt, and even an opportunity for the public to cast their vote for their favorite quilt on display.
