The Chicamacomico Thanksgiving Week Festivities event is an annual collection of distinctive activities that include a pig pickin’, a visit from Santa, and much, much more.

The Chicamacomico Historic Site features an array of historic life-saving stations and outbuildings that have been guarding the shores of Hatteras Island for well over a century. During this distinctive Thanksgiving week event, folks can attend one or all of the activities on the schedule, which includes a pig pickin’ feast with all the fixings, a special session with Santa himself that the kids will love, and an outdoor reenactment of a Beach Apparatus drill, which was performed by the island’s first lifesavers decades ago. During the week, the museum and gift shop will remain open so that folks can enjoy a detailed exploration of this site and all it has to offer. With lots of educational and fun activities on the agenda, the Chicamacomico Thanksgiving Week Festivities event is an annual tradition that Hatteras Island locals and visitors alike will adore adding to their holiday celebrations.
