Enjoy a little early morning education while mingling with some of the most famous residents of the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island at the seasonal “Breakfast with the Rays” event.

Held on multiple days throughout the summer season, this special event allows early birds to head to the aquarium a little early to learn more about these large gliding creatures that are at home at the aquarium, and on the Outer Banks.

Visitors will learn a little bit about the varying species of resident rays before helping trained staff feed these creatures in the area’s touch tanks with a light snack breakfast. Afterwards, participants will be able to dine on a light breakfast of “people food” before continuing their exploration of the aquarium from top to bottom. Closed toe shoes are required, and this program is open to all visitors ages 6 and up. Reservations can be made in advance online, and the cost is $19 for non-aquarium members. Certainly a unique way to start a day on the Outer Banks, this cool rain-or-shine activity will be a thrill for animal lovers of all ages, and is sure to be a highlight of any Outer Banks coastal exploration.
