Come enjoy one of the fasting growing watersports on the Outer Banks while exploring a cool corner of waterfront Duck by joining in the fun of the BIC SUP One Design Series. This family friendly event shines a spotlight on stand-up paddle boarding, or “SUP,” and centers around a race through a scenic section of the Currituck Sound. The race launches from the docks of the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Duck, and cruises through a calm and pretty corner of the waterfront before heading back to the island. Both regular paddlers and newcomers are welcome to attend and join in, and because SUP is a nicely easy sport to pick up, it won’t take very long for new folks to catch on.
The event is free to everyone, and paddlers who want to learn more can sign up for tours, lessons, and other activities at the Kitty Hawk Kites store before or after the easy-going race. Open to all ages, with no sign-up or entry fee required, the BIC SUP One Design Series in Duck is a great way to discover a new sport while enjoying all the inherent and natural beauty that the Northern Outer Banks has to offer.
