During the Beach Food Pantry Holiday Chefs Challenge, area chefs will compete head-to-head to whip up truly delicious dishes with canned foods that are traditionally found in stock at the local Beach Food Pantry. With lots of new tastes to discover, and a worthy cause at the heart of the event, this wintertime celebration is a great way to give back while enjoying a truly distinctive and tempting meal.
Chefs will create a selection of dishes during the competition which focus on canned ingredients, and which will then be judged by both a three-member panel, as well as the audience. In addition to the “main course,” the event will also feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, assorted beverages (such as select beer, wine, and soft drinks), and a cash bar for other options. The event also features a few corresponding activities to keep the fun going, including a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and DJ music. With proceeds going to the Beach Food Pantry on the Outer Banks, this cook-off is a unique way to have a ball while supporting folks in need on the OBX.
