Tweens and teens can embark on a host of Outer Banks adventures at this special summer camp that puts the waves and local waters in the spotlight. The Aquatic Adventures Summer Camp features a myriad of sports and activities that are best enjoyed by the local shoreline, and is sure to be an experience that young visitors and locals alike will never forget.
The summer camp is offered by the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, and is open to all kids ages 12-13. During this five-day event, kids will explore the local environment as they collect and release a variety of marine wildlife, will take a hike through the maritime forest, will enjoy a snorkeling lesson and a kayak tour through the Croatan Sound, and will even learn to surf and / or stand up paddleboard on the cool blue ocean waters. Kids will need to bring along all their beach gear as well as a bag lunch, and can sign up online before the late July camp begins. With a sampling of all the on-the-water fun the Outer Banks has to offer, this summer camp features the “best of the best” when it comes to coastal adventures on the Outer Banks.
