A Music Man for All Seasons

A Music Man for All Seasons is a mobile disc-jockey service owned by John Harper, who has been entertaining at weddings and other occasions on the Outer Banks since 1985.  Few people know music as well as Harper, who can cite the year and artist off the top of his head of nearly any popular song. After playing for more than 800 wedding receptions and 200 functions ---parties, dances, reunions, corporate events --- Harper is so sought after, there is often a waiting list for his service.

In addition to serving for many years as a radio programmer, announcer and DJ on several Richmond, Va. and Outer Banks radio stations, since 1994 Harper has also been the North Carolina entertainment writer for The Virginian-Pilot and The Coast, a supplement to the Pilot.  With his distinctively deep voice, Harper has also been frequently heard doing voiceovers for local businesses.

Harper won the 2012 WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards, putting his service in top 5 percent of wedding pros nationwide. The award recognizes the top local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence and professionalism.
