Celebrate the birth of America with live music, a wealth of summertime foods and games, and an incredible fireworks display over the Currituck Sound at the Annual Festival of Fireworks. This special event is held at the Historic Corolla Park next to the iconic Whalehead Club, and is a combination of fun, sun, and plenty of patriotism that family members of all ages will adore.

The event will feature an array of food vendors from the region, a watermelon eating contest, a cornhole tournament, and children’s games, in addition to live music throughout the afternoon and evening. (The fun kicks off at around noon, while the live music will start playing in the early evening.) When the sun goes down, the fireworks display will start over the waters of the Currituck Sound, and visitors are welcome to spread out a blanket or relax in a beach chair to catch the incredible show. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Currituck Outer Banks Travel & Tourism Association. Serving as a great way to get into the 4th of July spirit, this Festival of Fireworks will be an Independence Day celebration that has been going strong for over 25 years, and which visitors won’t soon forget.
