With Capt. Mike and Hatteras Blue Inc., the Gulf Stream waters can be all yours. With a crew ready to put their talent to work for you, the fish that are biting, and the finest angling opportunities, you have found the right place.
You will be fishing aboard the ‘Hatteras Blue’, a wide and stable Carolina Sport Fisherman built by Buddy Harris. With 48’ of excellence, she has a lot of room for up to 6 anglers. The Hatteras Blue comes powered by an 810 HP Caterpillar engine and can cruise at a top speed of 20 knots.
The Hatteras Blue was originally built back in 1975 and overhauled in 2010. She is fully rigged with modern electronics both navigational and fish finding. The beauty is also equipped with a flybridge to spot any action going on beneath the surface, a toilet for your maximum comfort, and even an air-conditioned cabin to relax in between the bites.
A deckhand will assist you throughout the adventure and will be there to help you bait the hooks and hook the fish.
The Gulf is 20 miles from the shore and is home to a large variety of species. January through Marc is the best time to get your hands on giant Bluefin Tuna, which can be found while fishing the wrecks, rock pile, and the rocks. Redfish, Rockfish, Yellowfin Tuna, and King Mackerel are also around.
April through May is ideal for those who want to concentrate on Mahi Mahi, Marlin, and Yellowfin Tuna, while the summer months are the best for a mixed bag of almost any Gulf species you could think of. Don’t neglect the fall and winter months - there are plenty of Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and Billfish around!
All trips come with the use of quality gear and tackle.
