Kena Activewear is a small company with big ideals - ideals motivated by inspiration. It says it’s committed to carrying products made by companies that are inspiring in a number of ways, such as using innovative and environmentally friendly fabrics, supporting social stewardship or helping women become empowered.
The shop offers sportswear and other apparel, along with accessories that help women stay fit and reflect its belief in style, performance, comfort and sustainability - and most of all its commitment to the active lifestyle.
One brand the shop carries, Nuu-Muus, makes fun-colored and very versatile, lightweight sports dresses that flatter any figure, and the company also supports non-profit organizations dedicated to the health and well-being of women and girls. Lucy, another of Kena‘s inspirations, was founded by a group of women who believe sports clothes should be flattering as well as functional, and its designers are also women who do the activities they design for. And Tasc, another brand, gets kudos for stylish wear made from sustainable fabric, derived from all-natural bamboo fibers, that keep you cool and dry while keeping the environment clean.
Kena’s commitment even carries over into accessories like their environmentally friendly Sherpani bags, made from recycled and natural fibers and with non-toxic dyes.
Kena’s mantra is “Be passionate. Be inspired. Be active,” and they do a good job of getting you moving in that direction. Kena is located at Buccaneer’s Walk, on the sound side of the Bypass, just south of the Kitty Hawk Post Office.
