Back by popular demand, the Town of Duck invites visitors and locals alike to help them ring in the holiday season with this weekend-long celebration of all things festive. Local shops and merchants will keep their doors open late for holiday shoppers, and local restaurants will sponsor a Tapas crawl. The town green will be honored with a special visit by Santa, and visitors can enjoy a full afternoon and evening filled with live music, sing-alongs, and the lighting of the town's official "Crab Pot Tree." For a celebration that is miles wide and boosts the holiday spirit of everyone in the community, the Duck Yuletide Celebration is not to be missed.

Seasoned visitors to Ocracoke Island love to soak in its rich heritage and culture which dates back to the 1500s, and features some legendary and longstanding residents. Some of the most popular Ocracoke locals are the Wild Ponies, which are protected in a secluded 180 acre area enclosure on the soundside of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, but can still be enjoyed by anyone passing through the island on NC Highway 12.
