Join The Lost Colony and the National Park Service for a family-friendly special event that celebrates the birthday of one of the most famous residents in the Outer Banks – Virginia Dare. Virginia was the first English child born in the “New World,” and during this sunny Faire, visitors of all ages can enjoy a wealth of activities that combine local history, culture, and plenty of fun.

The activities may be educational in nature, but they will be truly entertaining for visitors of all ages, with face painting, stories, crafts, games, and much more at The Lost Colony Building in the heart of Manteo. After the festivities, visitors can sign up for a special performance of The Lost Colony, the famous OBX production that holds a place in history as the longest running outdoor drama in the country. The full day followed by an evening performance gives family members of all ages an opportunity to learn more about this fascinating true-life mystery, and to celebrate an event that focuses on the roots of Roanoke Island as well as the Outer Banks. A fun annual event for young and old visitors alike, the Virginia Dare Faire will be a memorable aspect of any OBX vacation.
