The Merry Duck is nestled in the quiet and peaceful Sea Tern Community that has private neighborhood access to both the beach and the sound just a short walk away! This beautiful cedar shake home is surrounded by the sweeping limbs of majestic live oak trees and the natural beauty of the resident deer, bunnies and birds. While staying in this spacious home, you'll feel like you have escaped reality while you actually only need to drive or bike a short distance to find yourselves in the lovely Village of Duck or the Sanderling resort with a myriad of shopping and dining options. You might not even need to venture beyond the borders of Duck during your stay!

The home itself is stocked with so much family fun, you might not leave during your entire stay! Flat screen TVs are located in the Great Room as well in each bedroom for streaming movies or for playing discs from the DVD library. Downstairs you will find a newly renovated and wonderful game room with a pool table, foosball table, convertible chess/poker table, dartboard, flat screen TV with PlayStation 3 and a full-sized futon.

The kitchen of the Merry Duck was updated in 2020 with a Samsung induction range and Samsung microwave, as well as an LG French door refrigerator. The induction range heats up extremely fast while keeping the kitchen up to 60% cooler while cooking during the warm summer months! Just steps from the kitchen, this home offers a screened in porch with luxurious wicker chairs and glass topped table perfect for an outside dinner, drinks or game of cards.

The expansive decking on this home is designed for the ultimate peace and tranquility while enjoying the nature you can find just outside your door. Each bedroom has its own separate access to the massive back decking and to the backyard. Wander outside to read a book in one of the porch swings or seats on one of the front or back decks, relax in the hammock situated on the middle level of the back deck or climb up to the "crow's nest" to enjoy secluded sunbathing while enjoying the ocean breezes among the treetops! Just off the massive back decks, you will find the oversized pool (13'x36'), poolside loungers, tables & chairs including both wood and gas fire pit tables and also a large family picnic table. The hot tub was replaced in October 2019 with a brand new Hot Springs Hot Spot 7-person spa that offers relaxation and hydrotherapy!

When you pick a day or days for the beach (just 390 yards away) enjoy the beach chairs for adults & children to make that day even more relaxing. For an adventure get on the bikes and tour the bird sanctuary or take 1 or 2 of the one-seater kayaks or the tandem fishing kayak with life jackets and paddles and explore the waters from the private sound access dock (just 100 yards away just across Rt 12).
