Fall, Winter and Spring: - For many reasons autumn is a extraordinary time to see the Outer Banks. Because days (and water) are still warm but evening hours are cool, it's much like experiencing two seasons in one vacation. Ocean treasures such as shells and sea glass are plentiful which makes them easier to find. The sea changes daily. It's actions and color change with the wind direction and you can observe the many personalities of the Atlantic ocean while here. The passion of the fishermen lining the piers and surf is palpable. The drum are running and a way of life, a tradition, returns to the Outer Banks.
