Learn how to make the most out of those fabulous Outer Banks catches the way the locals do at this special lecture and seafood preparation demonstration that will have anyone hungry for more. Hosted by Sharon Peele Kennedy, an Outer Banks seafood diva as well as the author of the popular local book “What’s for Supper?” this session will provide plenty of engaging insight on the best way to use fresh local ingredients to absolutely delicious results.

Fishing is a lifestyle on Hatteras Island, which is a corner of the Outer Banks coastline that celebrates generations of watermen who regularly bring in the fresh catches. From flounder and mullet to big offshore Mahi or tuna, the Outer Banks is renowned for its exceptional fishing, as well as its wealth of species that flock to the area waters. Through demonstrations, Sharon will show visitors how to prepare and whip up exceptional dishes with these local staples, and will have everyone in the family ready to get home and start cooking. Held at the Graveyard at the Atlantic Museum in the heart of Hatteras village, this special (and free!) presentation will be a mouth-watering experience for anyone who wants to learn how to enjoy the local seafood at its best.
