This Outer Banks vacation townhome "Sea Dunes D1" is located at mile post 4 1/4. The Sea Dunes is just across from 475 ft. of unobstructed, pristine beach that is life guarded. This complex provides their guests with use of the Community Pool (open mid May to mid September) along with use of the racquetball court, tennis court, whirlpool, universal weight equipment and the clubhouse with WIFI and there is also WIFI in the unit. 

Ground Level: Bedroom/Den with a Day Bed, Trundle, TV and a Queen Sleep Sofa. This is a great place for the kids to hang out. Large laundry room with half bathroom, shower, utility sink and washer/dryer. The hallway stair case leads to the mid level.

Mid Level: Offers a 2 Queen Master Bedrooms both with private baths and TV (one with access to the covered porch).

Top Level: Great room with brand new furnishings, 50" flat-screen TV/DVD and deck access, half bathroom, dining room seating 6-7 and kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless appliances and breakfast bar seating 2. Extras: 4 TVs, DVD player, high speed wireless internet, ceiling fans, washer/dryer, sun deck, iron, ironing board, Keurig, deck furniture, parking for 2 cars, community fitness room, community Pool and Hot tub and linens are provided. No Smoking. No Pets. Mini Vacations available (Oct 1 - May 15). Distance to beach access: 600'. Beds: 2 Queen, Day Bed, Trundle, Queen Sleep Sofa. Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

This home does not offer a land line telephone or a grill.
This home requires a $250.00 security deposit, refundable pending no damage. 

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Extremely clean and comfortable, great kitchen, appliances and extremely comfy mattresses....even on the daybed!! Nice complex and close to the beach...great townhouse!!

This condo has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The location was perfect for us and this area of the beach wasn't overly busy, which we appreciated. We fell in love with this property and with the Sea Dunes complex....so much so that we hope to buy a condo within the complex someday when we retire!..unfortunately that won't happen soon enough.

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
