Ground Level: Carport, enclosed outside shower and laundry room with washer and dryer. 

Top Level:  Great room with flat-screen TV/DVD, deck access, ocean views and dining area seating 10, newly upgraded kitchen with stainless steel appliances with counter seating for 4. Queen Bedroom with flat-screen smart TV, full hall bathroom, Bedroom with 2 Singles, and a Queen Bedroom that shares a jack-n-jill bathroom with dual vanity with a Bedroom with a Bunk Set and Crib. Top level deck with picnic table and access to the Crow's Nest deck with ocean views.  

Extras: 2 TVs, DVD player, internet access, books. washer/dryer, enclosed outside shower, parking for 4 cars, charcoal grill, crow's nest sun deck, ocean views, picnic table, deck furniture, high chair, baby gate and linens and towels provided.  No Smoking. Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
