**A 4x4 Vehicle is required to access this home, there are no paved roads in Carova. This home is located 7.7 miles from the 4-wheel drive access on-ramp.**

The top floor offers generous space with beautiful furniture and bright wood floors offering both a comfortable and beautiful area for the family to gather with a view of the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and there are flat screen TVs throughout.

The smart design and layout provides large eastern facing windows to allow healthy natural light to flood the upper level. Enjoy the sunrise from the multilevel wrap around decks or spy some of the most famous residents of Carova: the legendary heard of wild Spanish mustangs as they graze on the dunes or frolic by the sea.

With the 14'x28' private pool and the multiple levels of decking there is ample outdoor space with breathtaking views of the ocean. Sip a cool beverage by the pool or enjoy a game of billiards on the lower level. If you are itching to sink your toes into the warm sand by the ocean, this semi-ocean front home is a short walk to the beach and of course, should you choose to take advantage of one of the greatest benefits of the 4 wheel drive beaches, you can load up your vehicle with everything the family will need for a day on the most pristine and remote beaches on the northern Outer Banks.

We would definitely stay in this property again. It was a great fit for our group. The only complaint would be the linens - we didn't seem to get the normal amount of towels and the quality was below average.

Almost Paradise Review

We had a few issues but nothing major. The breaker to the water heater goes out easily. We just dealt with it lieu of calling maintenance. You may want to look into that.

Great location but a bit run down

This property has a great location with ocean views and a full wrap around deck. We loved all the seating around the deck, but we did realize it made it tough to gather outside with a large group because the deck is not that deep. The house has a lot of rooms, but it has a run down feel. It needs painted. There are plants coming up through the concrete around the pool. The outdoor shower is like a catch all for all sorts of ****. There are things they set aside for repair sitting around outside. The pool gate seems ready to fall off. Still. It fits a lot of people snd you can see the ocean.

Escape from reality

We had a great time. We planned this last January when we were unsure how the pandemic would play out. We we’re quite happy with this decision and felt it was a covid safe. Some reviews mentioned lack of cleanliness, we found the inside of the home clean. The outside is weathered but we’d expect that for the age of home and location. Our dog enjoyed morning walks/swim on beach and we enjoyed the pool every afternoon. We were perfectly relaxed and content.

Our first time to OBX so nothing to compare it to but we loved the isolation of no crowds. House was lovely and we loved seeing the horses every day in the yard. Quick walk to the beach and we loved the pool. Only thing we would have liked was a larger or second grill.

Could have been Paradise if.......

It was our first family experience @ Carova Beach - weather was great, overall, the house was very nice but was not clean, screens were torn, kitchen needed cleaned before we enjoyed our week. Otherwise, the house was close to beach - horses were nearby everyday —

Our home was everything we needed. Our kids had a great time and we made alot of amazing memories ❤ The views were amazing. The pool people were friendly when they stopped by for mid week maintenance. The house needed the air filters changed and a few light bulbs. We definitely would stay again.

4x4 Needed

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 4x4 VEHICLE. AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WILL GET STUCK ON THE BEACH. 10 MILES OF BEACH DRIVING EACH WAY TO THIS HOUSE. WE ENJOYED THE HOUSE.

Stayed a week in September

The house was very nice and had plenty of room for the 7 adults and 2 children in our group. We saw horses all week. At times we were unable to drive down the beach into town because of the high tides. This had a lot to do with the storm that was coming in. The beaches were not crowded. The decks on the house provided a nice view of the area. Overall, great house and a great week spent on the 4x4 beach.

The swartzentruber vacation

We were very happy with this home pool was fairly private and well suited for the children. Location was great had easy access to the beach and there wasn't to many houses around us.the only thing we were disappointed with the kitchen was on the third floor which made for a lot of work lugging our food supply up but that wouldn't keep us from doing it again.

Perfect vacation home for multiple families

Short drive or walk to the beach. The horses were in our yard daily. Nice ocean views. Beautiful pool area. The only downfall that I can think of is that the home provides only one refrigerator. With large groups and the limited access to ice that made keeping enough beverages cold challenging.

It was a little rough at first. The keyless entry code didn't work but they sent someone out to fix the issue. Overall, we had a great experience.

The house we stayed in had a few problems. Some were, a loose porch railing on the second floor balcony, all the pool chairs were broken, the TVs did not work as promised.
However Kitty Hawk Realty was very helpful on fixing these problems,with the exception of the TVs in a timely manner. My husband, who travels for a living was extremely disappointed that he could not stay in bed and watch TV at his leisure! I don't think we would stay in this house again, however we we're impressed with the Realty company and their kind and helpful employees.

All of us were really pleased with the location of Almost was just as advertised. We would have liked to have had bathmats/hand towels provided, although all of us knew we each had to bring our own towel. Property management was helpful before our stay, and kind enough to give us a warning about possible changing weather conditions when Maria might have made its way up the Outer Banks.

We had a wonderful vacation. Home is beautifully decorated and spacious. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach (a short walk over the dunes), the pool, and the hot tub. The beach was very clean and we enjoyed morning walks. This rental is located 7 miles north on 4x4 Carova Beach. We had a relaxing vacation.

Great Home on Corova Beach

We had a great week at Almost Paradise. We were able to check in a tad early which was a huge plus bc we had small children. The home looked just as it did in the photos. It was clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub were great. There is no home in front of Almost Paradise so the ocean views were great and there is a walking path to the beach right outside the front door so it made jogging back for a missed beach item very easy. The rental company was pleasant and easy to work with. When we come back to OBX we will likely stay here again.

Great location. Short drive to the beach. Beautiful sunrise every morning, kids had a blast in the pool, and lots of horse sightings! Cleanest dog friendly home we've ever stayed in the OBX. I do wish room layouts were disclosed on the listing. One of the bunk rooms is located in the basement- far from the other rooms. Not ideal for younger kids. It does have its own bathroom and would make more sense if it were converted to a queen and one of the other rooms be converted to the 2nd bunk room. There were also LOTS of nails lying around the porches. Unsure of how there were so many everyday and wouldn't recommend anyone walk in porches or below the house in bare feet.
