 John Noffsinger has an M.A. and a PhD in English from the University of Virginia, where he specialized in the Victorian Novel and crafted his dissertation on character development in Charles Dickens’ early novels. Teaching Medieval and Modern Humanities at Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University until retiring in 2014, he now concentrates on a more leisurely lifestyle, although he has nevertheless written hundreds of book reviews for Kirkus Reviews over the past decade. His vast knowledge will lead to some fascinating insight for avid readers and students alike during this special lecture series that focuses on the role of women in Dickens’ beloved novels.
