Discover a new way to get creative while enjoying one of the best island destinations for a bit of rainy day or “out of the sun” fun with this special class that will inspire creative types of all skill levels. The Glass Fusion Sun Catchers class is a weekly activity that will show visitors the art of crafting stunning sun catchers that will serve as a one-of-a-kind souvenir to enjoy for years to come.

The class is taught by local artist Carolyn Schena, and is a great activity for all visitors who are ages 7 and up. During this morning session, Carolyn will guide students through the process of creating an eye-catching 5” square sun catcher with a coastal theme and homage. The cost to take the class is $39 – which includes all supplies required to get crafty – and the class is held at Studio 12, which is located in the central town of Avon and is therefore easy to reach for visitors staying throughout Hatteras Island. Advanced registration is required to attend, and visitors will want to sign up as early as they can as this class tends to fill up fast, due to its unique nature, fun atmosphere, and beautiful finished product.
