The Currituck Sound is a prime destination for fishing in the Outer Banks, and new anglers can learn all about the different catches that frequent these waters via this hands-on event that is hosted by the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. Fishing the Sound is open to all visitors ages 7 and up, and is an engaging fishing session that will inspire inexperienced and seasoned visitors alike to discover just how fun fishing on the Outer Banks can be.

All poles, tackle and bait are provided, and attendees will head to the edge of the Currituck Sound from the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education meeting point, which is located right along the water in the heart of Corolla. During the session, visitors will pick up all kinds of information on the different types of fish that can be seasonally found in the local waters, and will learn how to cast, identify their catch, and safely release a fish after it’s caught. The session is free for anyone who wants to develop a love of sound fishing, although advanced registration is required. Fun for all ages, this unique event is sure to be a highlight for any angler who wants to fully explore the OBX fishing scene.
