Fishing has a long and ingrained heritage on the Outer Banks, and the region’s newest and youngest visitors can help pass down this tradition for future generations through this special class that will show young visitors just how fun fishing can be. Designed for ages 4-7, “Fish Sticks” is a free, hands-on event that will create plenty of memories for kids and parents alike, and which is sure to help foster a love of fishing for years to come.

This session is held at the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education, which is located on the edge of the Currituck Sound in the Currituck Heritage Park. Situated in the heart of Corolla in the northern Outer Banks, this event is ideal for anyone staying in the OBX towns of Duck, Corolla or the 4WD communities of Carova. During the session, the poles and bait will be provided, and new anglers will head to a convenient local fishing hole to drop a line and create a few memories. Free and open to all kids (and their parents) ages 4-7, this is sure to be an unforgettable aspect of any OBX vacation. Advanced registration is required either online or by phone, and visitors will want to hurry as this engaging session is sure to fill up fast.
