Take a break from the wide and sandy beaches and dive into a crafty morning with this unique and magical pottery class that will lead to imaginative creations across the board. The Fairy Houses - Pottery Class will show students how to create a stunning ceramic fairy house to take home as a treasured souvenir and a truly personal work of art.

The summertime pottery class is hosted by the Kinnakeet Clay Studio and Showroom, which is a popular art gallery that’s located just barely off the beaten path. Situated in the heart of Avon Village – a quieter residential community in central Hatteras Island – the studio and gallery is an idyllic venue for a magical morning of extending a creative side. Professional instructors will show students how to use patterns and textures to create their individual fairy houses, and once complete, students will learn how to highlight the details with various color strips. Afterwards, the pros at Kinnakeet Clay will fire, glaze, and ship the newly formed treasures home, so that students can enjoy their masterpiece long after their vacation is over. Fun for beginners and experts alike, this class is a great way to explore an artistic inclination on the southern Outer Banks.

Owned by Garry Oliver, the proprietor of the Outer Banks Fishing Pier, this small wooden aqua blue-colored store on the Nags Head-Manteo causeway has been serving the needs of fishermen for decades. A full line of tackle is available for all types of fishing --- surf, pier, inshore and offshore --- with fishing rods stored on the ceiling as well as along the walls.  The store is an authorized dealer for major tackle brands, including Fish Bites, Daiwa and Gulp, and has a large selection of fresh, frozen and live bait.  In addition, it stocks crabbing supplies, and sells sunglasses, jackets, hoodies, T-shirts and hats. The store also rents outboard and pontoon boats for sound fishing, and is an authorized outlet to purchase state-required recreational fishing licenses. We also offer Dolphin Watching Tours!
