Kids can learn a little something new while having a ball at this special event at the Ocracoke Museum that’s designed just for them. The “Create-A-Craft Kid Program: Quilting” event will teach kids all about the Ocracoke cracker quilt before a hands-on session of crafting begins.

This event is just $5.00 per attendee, and parents and children alike will learn a little bit about the background of this iconic pattern before creating their own unique cracker quilt pattern to take home as a homemade souvenir. Held at the Ocracoke Museum, which is housed within the historic David Williams House, this special session for kids is a unique opportunity to get out of the sun and enjoy an activity with a little education thrown in. After the roughly 1-hour crafting program is completed, visitors can linger at the museum which is stuffed with artifacts that outline what life was like for island residents more than a century ago. With unique exhibits that include artwork, navy uniforms, WWII antiques, and even quilts, (and a little hands-on fun thrown in courtesy of the quilt class), this afternoon at the museum will be a fantastic compliment to any Ocracoke vacation that visitors of all ages will adore.
