Visitors and locals who have always wanted to master the sport of windsurfing can hone their skills at this special fall camp that’s designed to turn newcomers into water-riding pros. The ABK Board Sports Windsurfing Fall Camp takes place over the course of a few days, and is a great opportunity to learn windsurfing from the ground up, with instruction provided by some of the best boarders on the scene.
The camp has two sessions per day, (which run from 9:30 a.m. until noon and again from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.), and which is followed by a video analysis. The camp fee for the complete October session is $600, which includes unlimited instruction, video analysis, camp T-shirt, and sponsor giveaways. (Students should note that lodging and meals are not included.) Taking place on Hatteras Island, which is renowned as one of the best spots in the world for kiteboarding, students will learn all the skills and tips required to enjoy a lifelong kiteboarding habit. Rentals of equipment are also available, although students should note that wetsuits and booties are not included, and should bring along these items accordingly. With top instruction and a gorgeous setting, this camp is the perfect opportunity to develop a love for one of the OBX’s favorite watersports.
