1987: Celebration
In the 1980s,when North Carolina held a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Raleigh's Lost Colony, the outdoor drama continued to attract huge crowds to its summer performances.

The Elizabeth II

The number of historic attractions on the island increased with the addition of the Elizabeth II, a replica of an Elizabethan ship.
