Below are courses open to the public in Dare County. Other courses are available on the Currituck County mainland, along US 158, between Barco and
Point Harbor. Some courses are private in season, but open to the public off season. To determine their location along the Banks, read about the Outer Banks milepost system.
- Duck Woods Country Club
This is an Ellis Maple championship 18-hole course located in Southern Shores at Milepost 1 on US 158 Bypass. It is open to the public during the fall and winter.  261-2609.
- Sea Scape Golf Course
This 18-hole course was designed by former PGA tour player and Masters Champion Art Wall. Sea Scape is located in Kitty Hawk at along Mile 3 on US 158 Bypass. Beautiful views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Kitty Hawk Bay. There is a pro shop and restaurant on premises. 261-2158.
- Nags Head Golf Links
This 18-hole championship course is located on the ''soundside'' of US 158 Bypass, Milepost 15, Nags Head. It offers good playing conditions year-round. There is a restaurant, bar and a golf shop. 800-851-9404 or  441-8073.
- Ocean Edge Golf Course
This is a 9-hole course open daily year round. Ocean Edge is located in the village of Frisco on Hatteras Island.  995-4100.
